A fundraising effort involving volunteers walking barefoot over 1,200ºF coals after two hours training has been called off because the effort was "not viable".
The event, which was organised for Saturday (25), was arranged by the Staines Chamber of Commerce and had to be postponed because not enough people signed up for it to make it worth the money to put on.
A fun day will be held on Friday October 31 at Two Rivers Shopping centre to give families the Hallowe'en experience while staying safe.
The shopping centre is inviting families to come in fancy dress between 11am and 4pm and find 10 pumpkins in shops around the complex.
More than 150 balloons were released in Staines High Street on Monday October 20 to mark the beginning of Domestic Abuse Awareness Week.
Each balloon represented one person who has contacted North Surrey's Outreach Service - which provides help for people living in Spelthorne, Elmbridge and Epsom and Ewell - in the past year.
Deputy leader of Spelthorne Cllr Caroline Spencer, conservative for Ashford East, released the balloons at 10am.
Stickers and pocket-sized cards are being placed in toilets and workplaces across Spelthorne this week to raise awareness of domestic abuse.
Outreach workers are available Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 4.30pm and anyone needing help can leave a message on the answer phone for someone to return the call.

The manager at the Two Rivers Shopping Centre will be walking over 1,200ºF coals barefoot on Saturday October 25 at 5pm.
Charlotte Fletcher, who has been manager at the centre for nearly a yearm will be given two hours training to prepare her body and her mind before walking over 20ft of hot coals in aid of Staines Shopmobility.
She said she is hoping to raise at least £100 for the cause, adding: "I am very nervous, but also confident that I will be able to take on the task and raise my target amount."
The Staines Sea Cadets are set to be granted a temporary home in Lammas Park, Staines, after Spelthorne Council planning officers recommended the proposal was approved.
The cadets are being moved from their headquarters in Bridge Street while a 143-flat development incorporating a new base for them is built so they applied to relocate to the park for three years.

A developer has applied to Spelthorne Council for planning permission to demolish the rear section of a pair of semi-detached houses, and build a two more semi-detached homes and two garages.
Developer Trevor Mills submitted the plans to the council for the houses, which are mid-19th century homes, at numbers 72 and 74 Church Street, Staines, and has applied for conservation area consent to carry out the work.

Tickets for the evening at the Clarence Street restaurant, which starts at 7.30pm, are £20.

More speed bumps are to be installed in Gresham Road in Staines to calm traffic outside a school.
The road already has speed bumps on it but Surrey County Council is planning to bring in a 20mph speed limit following concerns raised by Staines Prep School and the police.
