Hot coals walk in Staines postponed
A fundraising effort involving volunteers walking barefoot over 1,200ºF coals after two hours training has been called off because the effort was "not viable".
The event, which was organised for Saturday (25), was arranged by the Staines Chamber of Commerce and had to be postponed because not enough people signed up for it to make it worth the money to put on.
Sarah Edwards, account manager at the chamber, said about 20 people signed up for the challenge and pledged to raise at least £150 for charity with £50 going to BLAZE, the company who holds the event, but at least 30 people were necessary to make it worthwhile.
It has now been rearranged for January 24 when, it is hoped, more people will have signed up to take the 15ft journey.
Anyone who wants to have a go should call Pauline Hedges at the Chamber on 01784 444204.
