Yoga class helps homeless charity
A charity yoga workshop at River Bourne health club raised £380 for the homeless charity Crisis.
Thirty-five people took part in the one and a half hour session at the Chertsey club, which was organised by yoga and pilates instructor Heather George.
Heather, who lives in Berkeley Close, Staines, normally works as a learning and skills volunteer for Crisis over Christmas but, after a stressful year, decided to spend more time with her family this year.
Instead, with the help of the club and her partner Tony Davis, she decided to hold a charity class last month.
She said: "I knew it was going to be a success as soon as I mentioned the idea at a few classes and had received such a positive response. With everyone's determination and focus in just a few weeks we had not only filled the places available but also had a waiting list."
