If you're wondering endlessly about what to do with the kid's now that you've got six gaping weeks to keep them occupied, have a look at some of the things you can do with them in the area and beyond!

Free summer play sessions

August 17 until Friday August 28

Where: Chertsey, Ottershaw and Staines

Runnymede Borough Council is holding free play sessions for five to 13 year-old's this summer.

The project entitled ROAR gets kids to take part in two hour activity sessions.

ROAR's summer play sessions will be moving around the borough, there will be activities in Chertsey, Ottershaw and Staines.

There is no formal supervision so children must be accompanied by someone over the age of 13.

Teen Tennis Lessons

Throughout August

Where: Sunbury, Stanwell and Ashford

Spelthorne council is providing tennis training for teenagers this summer.

Sessions will include training, drills and match play delivered by a qualified coach for 11 to 17 year-olds.

Courses cost £10 and will be run at Cedars Recreation Ground, Stanwell Recreation Ground and Ashford Tennis Club.

Mosaic Workshop

Wednesday August 5

Where: The Lightbox, Woking

Learn how to make your own mosaic.

Mandie Saw will be demonstrating how to create mosaics using a range of found objects, including buttons, broken tiles and small plastic objects.

From 1.00pm - 2.30pm (4 to 8 year olds) 3.00pm-4.30pm (8 to 16 year olds).

Tickets are £6.50 per child, accompanying adult goes free.

Clay pigeon shooting

Friday August 14

Where: Dartford, Kent

Enjoy a day of clay pigeon shooting.

Frock Stock and Shooting School recommend that children should be over 10 years old.

£20 per person will buy 15 clay targets 15 cartridges, full instruction from qualified coaches, all safety equipment, insurance and gun hire.

Pendle Slot Racing

Saturday & Sunday August 15-16

Where: Brooklands Museum, Weybridge

James May will attempt to break the Scalextric World by recreating the Brooklands racetrack in Scalextric, to be featured on BBC2 in James May's Toy Stories.

Over 20,000 pieces of Scalextric will be laid in order to complete the challenge.

Two teams, one from the local community and one from Scalextric Club members and enthusiasts will race around the 2.75 miles.

There will also be an swap meet and an opportunity to race your own Scalextric cars.

Tickets are £9 for adults, £7 concessions, £5 for children and £24 for the family.

Llama open day

Wednesday 19 August

Where: The Surrey Hills

Surrey Hills Llamas is having an open day.

A great opportunity to see the llamas and learn more about them.

The cost is £10 per family group, the day starts at 11am and will end at about 4pm.

Mercedes Benz World

Where: Weybridge

Throughout the Summer Mercedes Benz World is offering variety of kids offers.

They have just introduced a kids off road driving experience for anyone over 1.5m tall.

The driver will get to put the new Mercedes-Benz M-Class through its paces over 10 acres of axle twisting terrain.

The price for 30 minutes is £45, for 60 minutes it £80. For an additional £10, up to 3 passengers can join the fun.
