Talking on Thorpe Park's rides
When most people go to Thorpe Park they scream on the fast rides, but not me.
I was invited down to sample the summer holiday fun at the theme park and I took a good friend of mine who is a bit scared of rides along with me.
We were kindly given fast track tickets free of charge, which meant we got on all the thrill rides without having to queue.
Because of this, and because we were going on ride after ride again and again for four or five times in a row, we became a bit accustomed to them.
So we came up with the idea of having a chat on the rides while we looped, spun and dive.
I started it off when we were on Saw - the park's newest ride themed after the horror movie franchise.
Before starting, we made a pact that we wouldn't stop talking no matter how hard it was, so when we shot off in the dark I calmly asked my friend what his favourite food was.
He said: "Pasta," and only pasta, as he was trying to contain himself as we kept on dropping.
I kept up with the questions while we climbed the steep ascent before the vertical drop and found his favourite food was pasta and chicken with a bit of fresh basil on top.
But it didn't stop there.
Each ride we went on the conversations became more elaborate, and in fact, easier, once we became accustomed to the thrills.
Other riders even started laughing as we shot up the 300ft ascent to Stealth and marvelled at the lush greenery of Egham and Chertsey around.
Next time you are in Thorpe Park you should try it, it will add an extra thrill to the fun rides as you try and concentrate on more than one thing at once."
Throughout late August, the park is putting on Sun Scream, which will see motorbiking daredevils perform from August 22-31, festival music every weekend throughout August, a game show, and computer game 'try-out' festival from August 19-23.
