Staines band raise money for charity

A covers band from Spelthorne raised more than £1000 for charity during a live music event on Saturday November 7.

The Overlook, who have three members from Staines and one from Sunbury, performed at Stockley Park Golf Club, near Uxbridge, to raise money for London Air Ambulance.

The band performed two one hour sets of covers music from the 50s to modern day, and raised £1150.

Lead guitarist Marcello D'Ambrosio, of Wraysbury Road, Staines, said: "It was a great event, and we kept getting people telling us how much they enjoyed it. We held one last year in aid of Shooting Star children's hospice, and are already planning next year's gig."

The event also a saw a DJ perform songs and a raffle being held.
