The coroner at the inquest of train crash victim Terri Mansell is in discussions with rail regulators about improvement works to be enacted as a result of her death.
Terri died at the pedestrian level crossing in Moor Lane, Staines in April when she slipped and was hit by a train and at her inquest last month Dr Karen Johnson asked rail operator Network Rail for a list of similar crossings nationwide.
Dr Johnson is now in talks with the Office of Rail Regulation to establish what work needs to be done on those crossings and when it must be done by.
A decision is expected in January.
This is the new development planned for Majestic House in Staines.
Planning permission for one huge building on the site in the High Street was obtained earlier this year but the land was bought by new owners Landid and Rreef in January who have scrapped the plans in favour of a more open development.
Victim Support, which offers help for witnesses giving evidence in court, is appealing for volunteers to be based at Staines Magistrates' Court in Knowle Green.
No formal qualifications are required to become a volunteer as training is given but they must commit to working one day a fortnight.

A high-tec laser warning system has been installed by the railway bridge in Thames Street to stop tall vehicles getting stuck and causing traffic chaos.
An infra red beam will automatically detect tall vehicles approaching the bridge on the southbound side of South Street and flash up a warning sign.
Commuters who cycle to Staines train station will be able to get their bikes a free electronic tagging device from British Transport Police tomorrow (Thursday, 21) from 4pm-7pm.
The BTP said theft of cycles on the railway network has been an ongoing problem and the service is being offered in conjunction with Evans Cycles.
Ferret sightings have been reported by dog walkers and other users of Staines Moor.
It is unknown whether there is one or more rodents on the loose, and if they were released intentionally, or had escaped.
